Pathogenic microbes remain alive and contagious on surfaces for many hours, days, even months.<\/div>\n<div class=\"bauer-spacer clearfix\" data-desktop=\"40\" data-mobi=\"40\" data-smobi=\"40\">They form a \u201ctank\u201d and are transmitted by touch.
